Description: Kate Burke talks about the events leading up to the Battle of the Little Bighorn. With photos and maps she explains the backstory, from the Lewis & Clark Expedition, through the Indian Wars, Doctrine of Manifest Destiny, failed treaties and discovery of gold in the sacred Black HIlls. Volunteer guide for the Battlefield, George Gleason, talks about what came after and how we remember the event. He also has some amusing stories about what visitors think and want to see when they visit.

This presentation was given at the Senior Center in January, but was but short. By request, we are repeating it, this time at WHAFV. We ask for $15 to cover our costs then donate the rest to WHAFV. You can bring your own lunch. We will have hot and cold drinks.
